    Trevor Pinch will talk about the history and impact of the Moog Synthesizer. He is a professor of music technology at Cornel University. His book “Analog Days Chronicled the history and development on the Moog synthesizer.

    Albert Glinsky is going to talk about the Theremin and it’s inventor Leon Theremin.

    Dick Smothers will also be on the program. He’s going to talk about the Smothers Brothers and give an interesting account how the Smothers Brothers discovered folk music and became one of our best known comedy duos.

    Moses Asch and Folkways Records - Jeff Place

    Moses Asch was the founder and force behind Folkways Records. Now operated by the Smithsonian, Folkways released scores of recordings folk and ethnic music. Artists that included Pete Seeger, Woody Guthrie, Ella Jenkins, Hudie Ledbetter and many others. Jeff Place is the curator of Smithsonian Folways and sits in Moses Asch's chair. Jeff will my guest this evening.

Lerner talks about his work with Miles Davis, The Who, Newport, the Isle of Wight festival and Isaac Stern.

    Dave's guest will be Violinist/Composer Kurt Coble. Kurt is the Artistic Director of the University of Bridgeport Robotic Music Laboratory and creator of P.A.M. Band (Partially Artificial Musicians).

    We talk about the PAM band performing a world premiere music score with a showing Fritz Lang's 1927 masterpiece "METROPOLIS" next week at UB.

    On the Eve of the 5th anniversary of 9/11 WPKN'S Ken Macdermotroe talks with Prof. Steven Jones about his theory as to why the World Trade Center building. Steven Earl Jones is a professor of physics at Brigham Young University. He is co-chair of Scholars for 9/11 Truth and co-edits the Journal of 9/11 Studies. Jones is currently investigating the hypothesis that the World Trade Center Twin Towers and WTC 7 were brought down a controlled demolition.
